400 Keawe – Low-Rise Kakaako Living

400 Keawe, a low-rise project developed by Castle & Cooke and Kamehameha Schools, will add some variety into the Kakaako real estate landscape. There are several high-rise projects for sale right now including The Collection, which just sold out it’s low-rise component of studio lofts, Keauhou Lane, which will start sales soon, The Symphony, which is currently under construction, and Waihonua, which will be completed in the coming months. All of these projects are high-rises and don’t really offer much in terms of variety for the buyers out there that prefer low-rise living.

400 Keawe will surely provide a mix in the available pre-construction inventory in Kakaako, with 5 stories of living which include one-, two-, and three-bedroom units. One-bedroom units could start at 583 sq. ft. with three-bedroom units spanning up to 1,330 sq.ft. Historically Castle & Cooke offer their homes by lottery and we can expect 400 Keawe will follow suit.  There will be a reserve housing component to this project as well with that also being offered through a lottery.

There will be 95 units available for purchase, 75 of which will be available at market value and 20 allocated for workforce housing. Prices will range from the low $400,000’s to the mid $700,000’s.

400 Keawe will be located on the block adjacent to the proposed civic rail station, another reason why there is so much demand in this area of Kakaako. There is also talks that a grocery store will go in to  the ground floor of Keauhou Place which is located on the adjacent block to 400 Keawe, the same block the proposed rail station will be built on.

If amenities are not your thing and low maintenance fees are a high priority for you, 400 Keawe is a project you should consider.
