Developed by Alexander & Baldwin, the same developers as Waihonua, Keola Lai is a great building that offers large floor plans for relatively low prices. Close to downtown Honolulu and the future Civic Rail Station. The decor in the building feel more local, not really modern and contemporary like other newer buildings in Kakaako. With the new Keauhou Place condominium coming up on the ocean side of the building, partial views will be blocked.
The Amenity Deck
The amenity deck features a very large pool and exercise room. No BBQ cabanas at Keola Lai though there are communal BBQ’s for cooking food and hanging out, just not great if there are multiple parties there at once. Ample space for tanning and hanging out with family friends near the pool and the exercise room is fully loaded.
The Neighborhood is very much up and coming with a lot of new development going on similar to the rest of Kakaako. The Civic Rail Station is about a block away which will feature new restaurants, shops, and hopefully a new grocery store.
Features of the Residences
Open and large floor plans are an excellent feature of this building. Dark hardwood floors, open concept kitchens, and fairly large bathrooms can also be found. No floor to ceiling windows here, but some units offer large balconies with amazing views.
Only three elevators service this entire building so wait times during rush hours can be long. With Keola Lai located on the west side of Kakaako, Diamond Head views will most likely be blocked by future development.
