Aina Haina, Hawaii, is an unincorporated community in Honolulu County. Its name is Hawaiian for “Hind’s Land.” The community derived its name from Robert Hind, the owner of Hind-Clarke Dairy. The homeowners here are updated with the goings-on of their community via a monthly newsletter published by the Aina Haina Community Association. If you enjoy the year-round sunny weather and being near the Pacific ocean, then you just found yourself the perfect home. Some of the most popular activities here include surfing, kayaking, and paddleboarding. Aina Haina homeowners are warm and welcoming, just like their weather.
Aina Haina has about 25,000 people, meaning that it has a tight-knit, small-town feel. In spite of its small size, homeowners and visitors alike find plenty to do. Check out the Aina Haina Shopping Center. It has a post office, gas stations, restaurants, clothes stores, among other types of shops. Play sports and engage in other activities at Aina Haina Community Park. Programs are available during the spring, summer and fall seasons and include arts and crafts, sports, music and other activities for adults and kids. This facility also has tennis courts and ball fields. A “cool” place to grab a refreshing treat is Uncle Clay’s House of Pure Aloha. This shop sells shaved ice covered in cream and fruit pieces. Aina Haina is home to two schools: Aina Haina Elementary and Holy Nativity School. Aina Haina Elementary is an International Baccalaureate World School and Holy Nativity is associated with a thrift shop and a church of the same name.
The majority of Aina Haina real estate properties are townhouses and single-family homes with an average of three to five bedrooms. Many of them were also built during the mid-20th century. The homes in Aina Haina also vary by style, price, and household size. All in all, this community is a great place to buy a home due to its nice weather, nautical environment and friendly residents.
