The Pig & the Lady, an award winning restaurant located near downtown Honolulu will open a new restaurant at Ward Centre later this year. The restaurant, named Piggy Smalls, will offer contemporary Vietnamese eats and treats next to Agu Ramen at Ward Centre along Auahi Street.

The menu will be an extension of the Pig & the Lady brand and will showcase a breakfast menu, which will be served until dinner time, including a rotating selection of pastries, toast menu featuring house-made breads, and a jam program featuring toppings such as kaya, a coconut custard egg jam. The Vietnamese-inspired fare will be offered in a casual setting with indoor and outdoor seating, including both sit-down and take-out options. The 1,600-square-foot restaurant, which is slated to open in the fall of 2016, will be open for lunch and dinner daily and will employ about 30 employees.

As the Ward Village neighborhood continues to grow, more and more established restaurants will want to move to the area. There is a real opportunity for growth in the community from a business standpoint, with so many potential consumers within walking distance. Of course The Pig & The Lady has been in Kakaako before, every Wednesday they have a small pop-up at the Farmer's Market located the Blaisdell.
