Kicking off the Honolulu Startup Weekend with an attendance of about 80 individuals consisting of software developers, graphic designers, business entrepreneurs, and more, gathered tonight at The Greenhouse Innovation Hub on Friday, April 27.
Startup Weekend is a 54-hour event focused on building a web or mobile application which could be used for businesses over the course of a weekend.
Attendees pitch their ideas for applications to the audience, and based on their interests, people form teams by choosing which ideas they would like participate in. Utilizing different skill sets from each individual, each team will develop an application throughout the weekend and present it to a judging panel on Sunday, April 29.
Ideas ranged from mobile applications for travel to applications for integrated social media were pitched out to the audience. With at least five teams formed, Startup Weekend Honolulu starts off the weekend with great ideas surrounding each application.
