Mililani is a gorgeous city based in Honolulu County, Hawaii. An unusual and interesting fact about this community is that in spite of being under one name, it’s split into two places. Their names are Mililani Town and Mililani Mauka. Combined, these smaller communities have about 49,000 residents. Mililani was labeled an “All-American City” in 1986 and Money Magazine stated this was one of the best U.S. cities in which to live. Homeowners praise it for its superb home market value and sunny weather.
Mililani is basically Honolulu’s bedroom community, but homeowner’s like this area because of its shopping centers, parks, and golf courses. Its three shopping centers include Mililani Marketplace Shopping Center, Mililani Town Center Shopping Center and Mililani Shopping Center. One of the most popular parks in the area is Mililani District Park. It has many amenities to keep you moving, including tennis courts, a martial arts room, a racquetball court, a skate park, ball fields, a soccer field, among other facilities. Invite your friends over for a few rounds of golf at Mililani Golf Club. A cool thing about this golf course is that it has its own restaurant, so you don’t have to bring your own food if you don’t want to.
About 64 percent of real estate properties in Mililani are single-family homes with an average of three bedrooms. Many of these homes were also constructed between 1970 and 1990. There are a couple of downsides to dwelling in Mililani. First, the cost of living is expensive for some people. And, second, basic amenities like restaurants and grocery stores aren’t very close to residences.
